The Run Down
I’m Jonathan Rodriguez, a Communication Design graduate with a passion for UI/UX design and photography. I prioritize creating functional designs that enhance human experiences in everyday life. I aim to bring practical solutions that not only look great but also make life easier for everyone.
Discovering Design
Starting my high school years, I had no idea what I wanted to study until I started to take my three-year digital media class. Here, I learned very valuable skills like design software, DSLRS, and video production. Once I graduated, I knew that I didn't want to put my skills to waste and I should continue to grow upon them. This combined with advice from my amazing teacher, Mrs. Almonte, I decided to apply to City Tech in Brooklyn, NY.
The past four years in college, I have learned that I like to design for purpose, functionality, and ease of use. UI/UX design was the perfect specialty of design that aligned with my passion, so this is where I am now, growing as a designer and young adult.
My Personal Life
Other than design, I love listening to music, photography, and gaming. My favorite music artist is TheWeeknd, who I discovered in 2014, back when I confused his music with the Black Eyed Peas. Photography is something I recently got into more because of my college classes. I love the idea of being able to capture beautiful scenes and moments that last forever. Whenever I have time, I try to go for a stroll around the streets of NYC and capture interesting street photography. Gaming has been my go-to hobby since I was very young. It's my way of escaping reality when I really need to, and just to relax while listening to music. My favorite games are Halo 3, Resident Evil 4, and Overwatch.
